Everything You Need to Know

Frequently Asked Questions

Your Wedding DJ Questions, Answered

Whether you're just starting your search for a St. Louis wedding DJ or finalizing details before your event, these questions cover everything from the booking and planning process to music selection, emcee services, and what to expect on the day itself.

ONE · BOOKING & GETTING STARTED

01

How much do your wedding DJ packages cost?

Wedding DJ packages start at $1,500. To receive a personalized quote for your wedding date, please reach out through my contact page.

02

Can I meet with you prior to booking?

Yes — and I strongly encourage it. Before any booking is confirmed, I will request to schedule a call or meeting to understand your event vision, answer your questions, and ensure that I am the right fit for your celebration.  Meetings are available in person, by phone, or via video call.

03

How do I book you for an event?

Once you are ready to move forward, I will provide a contract for your review and signature. Your date is formally confirmed upon receipt of the signed contract and a 50% retainer, which must be submitted within 10 days of the contract date.

04

What happens after I book?

After booking, you receive login credentials to a dedicated online planning portal. Through the portal, you can submit event details, music preferences, timeline information, and special requests at your own convenience — there is no rush. Approximately seven to eight weeks before your event, I will schedule an in-depth planning meeting to review all details in full.

05

How far in advance should I book?

Popular wedding weekends — especially in spring (April through June) and fall (September through November) — tend to book 12 to 18 months out. That said, I perform year-round, and it's always worth checking on your date regardless of how far out it is. Reach out and I'll let you know my availability.

TWO · MY APPROACH

06

Will you be the DJ for my event?

Yes, absolutely.  I am the DJ and emcee for every event I am contracted for, from the initial consultation through the final song of the night.

07

What is your emergency plan?

In over 16 years of performing, I have never missed a contracted event. However, in the unlikely event of an emergency, I am represented by Contemporary Productions — one of St. Louis's most established entertainment agencies — which maintains a roster of experienced professional DJs available to step in if needed. I also maintain relationships with other established DJ companies as an additional layer of contingency.

08

What makes your service different from other St. Louis Wedding DJs?

Three things set my approach apart. First, every event is planned in genuine detail — not just a quick call before a wedding. Second, I function as a professional emcee throughout your reception, handling formalities smoothly and coordinating your timeline so you can remain present and enjoy the moment. Third, my background in club-style mixing means the dance floor is managed with technical skill — seamless transitions, thoughtful song selection, and real-time reading of the crowd.

THREE · SERVICES & COVERAGE

09

Can you provide services for a ceremony?

Yes.  Ceremony audio and music management is available as an add-on to either the Essential or Signature reception package. I handle all ceremony music in advance — including prelude selections, processional timing, and recessional cues — and manage live audio on the day for a stress-free ceremony experience.

10

What areas do you serve outside of St. Louis?

I serve the full greater St. Louis metropolitan area, including St. Charles County, West County, South County, the Metro East (Columbia, Edwardsville, O'Fallon, IL), destination locations such as Defiance, MO and Hermann, MO, and as far west as Columbia, MO and Jefferson City, MO.

FOUR · MUSIC & REQUESTS

11

Can I customize the music selections?

Yes.  Through my online planning portal, you can submit must-play songs, do-not-play songs, genre preferences, and special requests for each part of your reception — from cocktail hour through the final song of the night.

12

Do you take requests from guests during the event?

This is something that will be discussed during a planning session. While I do not announce requests during an event, for guests that ask if requests can be taken, we will discuss if you would like for me to consider a request and use my discretion as to whether or not it is played or if you would like for me to decline guest requests.

FIVE · ON YOUR WEDDING DAY

13

What kind of equipment do you use?

I use professional-grade audio equipment, including RCF & FBT sound systems, for high-quality sound at any volume. Dance floor lighting is also provided with both packages. All equipment is maintained and tested before every event and backup equipment is on-site for every performance.

14

Do you make announcements?

Yes, in addition to be a DJ, I will also make all of the announcements throughout an event. I am not a center of attention type of emcee so announcements are only made when needing to address your guests, whether that be introducing a formality or informing them of something they need to know about.

15

How do you handle the timeline during a reception?

Timeline coordination is one of the most valuable — and often overlooked — parts of my service. Throughout your reception, I actively coordinate with your venue, catering team, and photographer to keep the timeline on track. I provide you and your partner with real-time cues so you can enjoy the celebration without losing track of time. The goal is a reception that flows naturally and stays on schedule without feeling rushed.
